Skyline gondola and luge rides. Buffet
lunch at Cableway Restaurant. Afternoon free time . Light BBQ
dinner at 7pm at Rainbow
Springs Nature Park
Here's
the view halfway up the mountain...

Here's
what the view looked like from the top of the mountain...
All the kids (young and old) enjoyed the luge rides so much
that they were all looking for extra luge tickets.

As
the sign says, it's the world's first luge site (photo courtesy
of Zelda):
We
had some time to do a little shopping to find souvenirs to
take home, such as this little kiwi bird which found its
way to Kelsey's head:

Below
you'll see the face of a real kiwi bird. This
one was at Rainbow Springs Nature Park, a beautiful nature
reserve
where
they
are nurturing kiwi birds in specially built aviaries, trout
in stunningly designed streams, and assorted wildlife. We
took an evening guided tour around the park. The place was
lit with multi-colored lights that danced on the waters in
the streams and accented the wonderful and soothing
sound of waterfalls and flowing streams.

Rick
insisted on having me post the following photo -- because
it seems to be nearly the only "Rick
and Cathy"
photo from the trip! I think his hair looks better than mine
in this photo. :)
